The basement of an old house in London reportedly yielded a macabre collection of skeletal winged bodies, including fairies, werewolves, and aliens. These eerie specimens were found arranged in cases and jars, posed in gruesome positions, offering a glimpse into a world of mythical beasts.
Fairies seen with their flesh rotted away and their wings nailed to display boards are joined by sinister-looking contorted alien bodies and hairy humanoid remains.
In addition, the collection included sketches of Jack the Ripper victims Catherine Eddowes and Elizabeth Stride, as well as purported human hearts and other organs preserved in jars.
The gruesome exhibits were purportedly part of the collection of Thomas Theodore Merrylin, described as “a wealthy aristocrat and biologist in the 19th century.”
A blog post detailing the purported discoveries claimed: “In 1960, during the clearance of land for the construction of a new residential neighborhood in London, the dilapidated mansion once owned by Thomas Theodore Merrylin was slated for demolition.
“In the basement of the home, builders discovered several thousand tightly sealed small wooden boxes.
“Imagine their surprise when they began to find inside the bodies of strange mythical creatures, which seemed to have only existed in fairy tales.”
